The register is who is out there. The record is what has been done. A register is a compiled list of the companies working in an area, most with nothing documented here yet. Each list prints the tests every business on it meets, and every fact on a card carries its source and the date it was checked.

Businesses document their completed jobs here, with photographs, dates and locations. Nothing is published until the business approves it. Where you see “customer confirmed”, the customer was sent a link and confirmed the work took place.

This is evidence of completed work, not a replacement for the checks you should make before hiring. Depending on the job you may also want to check qualifications, the registrations and scheme memberships that trade requires, insurance, manufacturer accreditation, planning or Building Regulations requirements, written quotations, warranties and independent reviews. We tell you what has been documented. You still make the checks your project needs.

- No. We publish evidence of completed work. You decide who is worth contacting.
- Does TradedProof check every business?
- No. We tell you what has been documented, what the business approved, and whether a customer confirmed it. Where an external accreditation matters, check it with the body that issues it.
- Are these reviews?
- No. Records document work; reviews describe opinion. They are different things.
- Does Customer Confirmed mean you inspected the job?
- No. It means the customer confirmed that the documented work took place.
- Are customer addresses published?
- No. Records name a town or area, never the customer's address.
- Why do some businesses show more work than others?
- Because this reflects what has actually been documented. More records means more work put on the public record, nothing else.
